Success Story - Preparing for Baptism

On Tuesday, we talked to Sati again and she said that from her meeting with the Owens (senior couple here) on Sunday during church and also from watching Special Witnesses of Christ (four times), she made a decision. Monday last week she set up an appointment to go talk to the head honcho for the Hindu organization she has been involved in. She told him and others in the place that she would be leaving that group and getting baptized into our church. They tried to dissuade her and slander one of the Guyanese church leaders. She has a testimony of Joseph Smith and is a smart lady, so they put down their attempts. She is doing very well and is preparing for baptism in the coming week.

Success Story - "Elder Myers, will you baptize me tomorrow?"

We had a lady who was thinking about baptism this past week. She is quite a sharp lady and was thinking very hard about the decision to be baptized. We took the Myers (senior couple) teaching by this lady one day, and at the beginning of the second lesson with them present, she had adamantly decided that she would not be baptized that coming weekend (It was Friday when we were teaching her). By the end of the lesson, she out of no where said, "Elder Myers, will you baptize me tomorrow?" Elder Myers did in fact baptize her and she will have a lifetime fellowshipper because of it...a pretty solid one too! I was reminded of a great lesson that the senior couples can play huge role when teaching.
